Intelligent water management system
Internet of Water Flanders
Large-scale permanent sensor network
Internet of Water Flanders protects Flanders from water risks
Internet of Water Flanders is a large-scale, permanent sensor network consisting of 2500 small, energy-efficient, and wireless water quality sensors distributed across Flanders. It maps the available water reserves and monitors the water quality of soil, groundwater, surface water, and treated sewage water, tracking their evolutions. By utilizing real-time data, supplemented with self-learning predictions of key parameters, it will be possible to better optimize the use of water reserves based on water demand.
The project Internet of Water Flanders is a collaboration among various partners: VMM, Watergroep, Aquafin, VITO, imec, and Vlakwa.
Blue developed the logo, visual identity, and accompanying guidelines for Internet of Water Flanders.
